As food-travel experts operating across hundreds of airport locations in the US and Canada, we manage a complex, multi-union environment that requires dedicated specialists who take ownership of every detail. We are looking for a Specialist, Union Dues and Benefits to join our Benefits team and serve as the day-to-day expert for union dues administration, reconciliation, and compliance.   • Serve as the primary point of contact for union partners, building trusted relationships across a complex multi-union and multi-jurisdiction environment
  • Use your analytical skills to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and drive process improvements that reduce recurring issues
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Payroll, HRIS, Finance, Legal, and Operations on high-visibility projects
  • Grow your expertise in union dues administration, collective bargaining agreements, and HRIS systems in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

What You'll Do:

 

  • Serve as the primary liaison for union dues-related matters, maintaining clear and consistent communication with union representatives and internal stakeholders
  • Set up, validate, and document new union configurations in SuccessFactors and payroll systems, including dues codes, rates, thresholds, and eligibility rules
  • Perform regular audits of system configurations to proactively identify and correct issues before payroll processing
  • Manage the intake and validation process for union dues updates, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all inputs prior to payroll execution
  • Perform comprehensive reconciliations of dues deductions against payroll outputs and union reporting requirements each pay cycle
  • Investigate, resolve, and document all discrepancies including missed, overpaid, and underpaid dues with clear root cause analysis
  • Ensure timely and accurate remittance of union payments in accordance with CBA timelines and legal requirements
  • Serve as a central point of contact for union dues inquiries from unions, employees, Payroll, and field teams, coordinating timely resolution
  • Ensure full compliance with CBAs, federal, state, and provincial regulations, and internal audit requirements
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, process maps, and job aids to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to support greater standardization and automation
  • Provide backup and support across other benefits areas including health and welfare, pension, trust funds, and non-union benefits as needed

What You Bring:

 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll operations, union dues administration, or a related function
  • Strong working knowledge of union environments and collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; SAP SuccessFactors experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume, detail-oriented work under strict deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause resolution
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex dues requirements clearly to diverse stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of the role
  • Ability to pass and maintain a criminal background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
