Are you a strategic financial leader who thrives in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment? We’re seeking a Regional Controller – Canada to partner closely with senior operations leadership and shape the financial performance of our restaurant portfolio across the region.
This is a high-visibility role with direct influence on profitability, forecasting strategy, and operational performance.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Partnership
• Collaborate with the Regional VP and operations leaders to drive financial performance and deliver actionable business insights.
Financial Leadership
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, variance analysis, and performance reporting.
• Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with Canadian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Operational Impact
• Translate complex financial data into clear, practical recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
• Support site-level leaders with financial tools, cost management strategies, and performance optimization.
Team Development
• Mentor and guide finance team members while partnering with corporate finance leadership.
Mobility & Collaboration
• Travel approximately 25% within Canada to support operations and strengthen cross-functional relationships.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive corporate accounting/finance experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership capacity.
• Food & beverage, hospitality, or multi-unit retail experience strongly preferred.
• CPA designation (or working toward) is an asset.
Financial & Technical Expertise
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and cost analysis tools.
Leadership & Communication
• Ability to influence and build strong partnerships with operations leaders.
• Skilled at communicating financial insights to both finance and non-finance audiences.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
