SSP America operates multiple restaurants within the Ontario International Airport. At SSP America, our Porters create a positive guest experience by accurately and effectively receiving, shipping, picking and packing all items and successfully delivering them to restaurants and / or grab-and-go locations.
Here are a few things you can expect if you join our team as a Porter:

Check delivered product for quality and quantity to verify receipt of items on invoice.
- Confirm that all frozen or refrigerated goods are within HACCP standards.
- Determine method of storage, identification, and stock location considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacity, and required space and other proper storage procedures.
- Load/unload supply trucks transferring between storage and work areas.
- Make timely deliveries to operating restaurants throughout the property and on schedule
- Conduct Inventory
- Compile reports
- Shipping and Receiving
- Pick and Pack all orders
- Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and storage areas and remove refuse. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, where applicable.
- Transport unused products for disposal and soiled service-ware to the kitchen and/or production area for cleaning.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills and Other Requirements:
- 6 months experience working in retail or food service environment is essential
- High school diploma preferred
- Verbal and written communication is essential. Must be able to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and receive instructions.
- Experience dealing with problems involving guest service.
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
