SSP Canada operates several restaurants throughout Toronto Pearson International Airport. Our restaurants include: Mill Street, Camden, Urban Crave, Tap & Pour, Dirty Bird, Distillery Food Hall, Built Burger, Upper Crust, Boccone Trattoria.
Job Summary:This role is responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring the availability of supplies, and maintaining stock organization in the restaurant. This role involves monitoring stock levels, receiving and storing deliveries, and assisting in inventory audits.Key Responsibilities:- Receiving Deliveries: Inspect and verify incoming shipments for quality and accuracy; document discrepancies.
- Stock Organization: Organize and store stock in designated areas, ensuring proper labeling and FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Waste Reduction: Monitor stock for expiration dates and minimize waste through proper storage and rotation practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen and service staff to forecast needs and ensure timely restocking.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations regarding food storage and handling.
Skills and Other Requirements
- Minimum 6 months' experience working in retail or food service environment
- High school diploma preferred
- Verbal and written communication
- Must be able to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and receive instructions
- Experience in dealing with problems involving guest service
- Food handlers permit, as required by law
- Brand certification, as required
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces
- Ability to obtain Transport Canada Security Clearance
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long periods.
- Capable of performing tasks in varying temperatures, including cold storage areas.
