People Leader

Join Our Team as a People Leader!

Compensation:

  • CAD $86,000 - $106,000/year

 

At SSP Canada, we’re passionate about delivering outstanding dining experiences in airports that reflect local flavors and culture! We're looking for a People Leader to help us maintain world-class standards and support our operations at three Ontario airports. If you’re passionate about people, the hospitality industry, and building a culture of compliance and excellence, we want to hear from you!

 

As a People Leader, you’ll partner with our leadership team to streamline processes, ensure compliance, and foster a positive work environment. You’ll help create scalable systems that empower teams, enhance performance, and uphold our mission, vision, and values.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with hiring managers to support pre-boarding, onboarding, and offboarding processes, including job descriptions and employment letters.
  • Facilitate New Hire Orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Address employee relations issues, resolve complaints, and collaborate with union representatives as needed.
  • Manage grievance processes and disciplinary actions, ensuring fairness and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies, investigating and resolving compliance risks.
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends and recommend strategies to improve retention

What We're Looking For:

  • A bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or a related field (required).
  • 5+ years of experience in a unionized environment, with hospitality or food service experience preferred.
  • Professional designation (e.g., CHRM) is a strong asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Expertise in Canadian labor laws; U.S. labor law knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% within Canada and the U.S., with valid work authorization.
  • Fluency in English is required; bilingual skills (French) are an asset.
