SSP Canada operates several restaurants throughout Toronto Pearson International Airport. Our restaurants include: Tim Horton’s, Freshii, Boccone, Mill Street Brewery, Urban Crave, Tap & Pour, Dirty Bird, Distillery Food Hall, Built Burger, and much more!
The Executive Chef is directly responsible for the hands‐on leadership and successful operation of the food production within their assigned location(s). The position reports directly to the Director of Operations / General Manager of the assigned location.
The position is responsible for the various tasks involved in the overall operation of the kitchen and management of the company’s/brand’s culinary program, including:
- Management of the staff
- Food quality/presentation
- Menu development
- Measuring business trends
- Maximizing sales/profitability by developing staff and by controlling expenses, shortages and all aspects of inventory control, including but not limited to purchasing and receiving of product.
Skills and Other requirements:
- Understands that guests are our # 1 priority
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Culinary with minimum five (5) years of experience in Food/Beverage operations or related industry and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Full Service restaurant experience preferred
- Demonstrates leadership/organizational skills while building and managing a team
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to interface effectively with all levels of management in the field and at the SSP Support Center
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Use sound business judgment to increase sales and operating profits
- Food Handlers Permit as required by law Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks
- Ability to clear a 5 year background check with Transport Canada
