Cashroom Clerk

Job Description

The Cashroom Clerk is responsible for all receiving, distribution, and maintenance of cash & cash equivalent for SSP restaurants in Pearson International Airport. 

Essential Functions

  • Management of the property safe including petty cash, cash drawers, and any/all monies to be deposited in the bank.
  • Conduct and be responsible for cash audits. Perform weekly audits in YYZ.
  • Maintenance and cash balances of Glory safes. Ensure weekly maintenance are performed in accordance to set standards.
  • Follow all property procedures involving any cash entering or leaving the cash room.
  • Prepare bank deposits, change orders, and reconcile cash daily from prior days business. Reconciliation of deposits with amounts received in bank on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare, order, and receive change orders from the bank in accordance with set standards.
  • Accurately reconciling daily cash and vouchers of sales associates through Lynx BM, reporting variances, if any and closing the week on LynxBM as per set weekly deadline.
  • Invoicing vouchers to airlines weekly and follow up for payment from airlines.
  • Maintaining access controls on CI server including creating access for new recruits, deletion for separations, and modification of access, as necessary.
  • Notify Director and Controller immediately about any cash discrepancies.
  • Follow and prepare all required paperwork for financial reporting as required by Controller.

 

Skills and Other Requirements

  • Degree or diploma with specialization in Accounting strongly preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum two years of cash room experience; or cash handling experience in a financial institution.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work on site at both Pearson International and Billy Bishop Airport locations
