Assistant General Manager –  Millie's Cookies Online, Manchester

At Millie’s Cookies, we don’t just bake cookies — we create moments. Behind every perfectly baked batch is a high-performing team and strong operational leadership. We are now looking for a driven and hands-on Assistant General Manager to support the leadership of our Manchester production facility.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced food production or hospitality environment and is ready to step into broader leadership accountability with real progression potential.

The Role

As Assistant General Manager, you will support the General Manager in leading the day-to-day operations of the production facility. You will help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output while delivering strong commercial performance.

You’ll be a visible leader on the floor, supporting your team to achieve production targets, manage labour effectively, control waste, and maintain exceptional brand and safety standards. During peak campaigns and seasonal events, you will help scale production efficiently while protecting quality and compliance at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operation of a fast-paced production site

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to deliver strong performance

  • Ensure full food safety, health & safety, and legal compliance

  • Monitor productivity and identify efficiency improvements

  • Support labour planning and cost control to drive profitability

  • Reduce waste and improve operational KPIs

  • Embed continuous improvement and change initiatives

  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and partners

You will help ensure the site performs at its best during busy periods while remaining commercially disciplined throughout the year.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone with leadership experience in food production, manufacturing, or high-volume hospitality. You’ll be confident making decisions at pace, motivating others, and driving accountability.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in a supervisory or management role

  • Strong organisation and communication skills

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of cost control

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset

  • A genuine commitment to safety, quality, and people development

You’ll lead by example, act with integrity, and contribute to building a positive, inclusive team culture.

What You’ll Receive

As Assistant General Manager, you’ll receive a competitive salary of £30,000 per annum, plus:

  • Colleague discount of up to 50%

  • 20% Friends & Family discount (T&Cs apply)

  • Flexible working opportunities

  • Management bonus scheme

  • Access to digital GPs and a 24/7 helpline for you and your family

  • Wellbeing support and family-friendly leave

  • Access to colleague networks including Neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ and more

  • Life assurance

  • Apprenticeships and ongoing development opportunities

  • Share Incentive Plan (SIP)

This is more than a role — it’s an opportunity to grow your leadership capability within a recognised and expanding brand.

If you’re ready to step up, make an impact, and help us be the best part of our customers’ journey, we’d love to hear from you.
