Trade Marketing Manager

About the role

Location: London, Jamestown Road
Working pattern: Hybrid working

This is a high-impact role sitting at the heart of our Commercial team. You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering trade marketing activity that drives performance, strengthens supplier partnerships and supports the delivery of our annual Trade Marketing plan.

You’ll work closely with suppliers, procurement, finance, marketing, operations and channel teams to identify opportunities, negotiate investment and bring campaigns to life across a fast-paced, multi-brand travel environment.

This role would suit someone who combines strong commercial thinking with creativity, relationship-building and the confidence to negotiate, influence and deliver results.

What you’ll be doing

As Trade Marketing Manager, you will:

  • Develop and deliver trade marketing plans aligned to commercial objectives across multiple sales channels.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with key supplier partners, creating shared objectives and unlocking new investment opportunities.
  • Negotiate, agree and execute trade activation campaigns across our estate.
  • Create clear activation plans for campaigns, maintaining accurate plans, trackers and supplier activity records.
  • Oversee the creation of point-of-sale materials, campaign communications and SharePoint updates.
  • Work closely with the Trade Marketing Executive, providing regular guidance, coaching and support.
  • Analyse sales data, market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and improve campaign performance.
  • Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain to align supplier terms, negotiations and new product development opportunities.
  • Work with Finance to ensure activity is invoiced accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Analysts to evaluate key strategic campaigns and share insight-led recommendations.
  • Track, forecast and report annual trade marketing income for suppliers within your remit.
  • Support the Senior Trade Marketing Manager with annual budget planning and proposals.
  • Lead the organisation and delivery of the annual Supplier Conference, showcasing SSP’s trading strategy and growing supplier engagement.
  • Deputise for the Senior Trade Marketing Manager when required.

What success looks like

In this role, you’ll play a key part in:

  • Delivering the annual Trade Marketing plan.
  • Achieving budgeted supplier income targets.
  • Securing incremental investment beyond supplier terms agreements.
  • Creating commercially strong, insight-led activations that are simple to execute and deliver real impact.
  • Building long-term supplier relationships that support growth across SSP UK & Ireland.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in trade marketing, commercial marketing, supplier partnerships or a similar role.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience developing trade marketing strategy and supporting budget delivery.
  • Strong supplier relationship management skills.
  • Confident negotiation skills and the ability to identify and secure commercial opportunities.
  • Good all-round business acumen and understanding of sales drivers.
  • The ability to turn insight, data and market trends into profitable activity.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities.
  • Confidence using analysis to support decisions and present recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A practical understanding of how marketing activity lands in operational environments, including space, layout, labour, equipment, service and ease of execution.
  • The ability to travel across the UK & Ireland when required for supplier meetings, site visits and conferences.
