Digital Solution Architect

About the Role

As a leader in the Customer and Digital Solutions function you will be accountable for driving forwards the technology strategy and architecture across all SSP customer facing solutions operating as the Digital Solutions Architect.

Within Customer and Digital Solutions we are running 2 key strategic programmes, a global POS replacement programme introducing Oracle Simphony across the unit estate, creating a global enterprise solution as the system of record for POS transactions and sales and creating a foundation for greater digital enablement. The 2nd is a portfolio of digital solutions to support customer propositions and journeys, helping drive improved experience, greater convenience and broader customer reach and engagement. This includes kiosks, self-check outs, consumer mobile web solutions, ecommerce, digital signage, customer and reward solutions. As the Digital Solutions Architect you will be instrumental in owning the architecture and high-level design across these initiatives and be accountable for the end-to-end design.

Main Duties

Business engagement and acumen - You will spend a meaningful amount of time learning how the business ticks, seeking to understand the challenges and opportunities that exist and how customer and digital solutions can help drive value. This will mean establishing and managing great relationships around the business and influencing the digital and technology agenda

Technology research, knowledge and innovation - You will evangelise and innovate, bringing to life new customer and digital opportunities with technology

End to end architecture - You will be responsible for the end to end application, integration and technology architecture across all customer solutions

Architecture deliverables - You will create and manage a set of customer solution architecture assets including HLD, data and integration architecture, patterns and standards

Collaboration - You will influence and collaborate across the technology and broader business functions to problem solve, ensure key design decisions are made and our end to end architecture is understood

Team engagement - You will help drive ways of working in the team that enables us to deliver customer and digital technology product capability to market at speed and to a high quality

Delivery - You will work closely with the head of customer solutions project and programmes to ensure robust delivery approach and plans, and support successful execution

Governance - You will be responsible for introducing and running the appropriate architecture governance across the customer solutions portfolio

Community of Practice - You will be a key member of the SSP architecture community and contribute to the continued shaping and development of the architecture practice

 

 

Skills/Knowledge

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect within customer, digital and/or retail domains
  • Demonstrated success in leading architecture on enterprise scale programmes.
  • Retail and/or Food and Beverage experience preferable
  • Experience working with agile teams
  • Experience with the following technologies or similar – Oracle Simphony, MuleSoft, SAP S4, Magento, Acrelec kiosks, mobile web solutions for order and pay, CMS, PIM, CRM and loyalty/reward solutions
