Cost Accountant
About the Role
As a cost accountant, you are primary responsible in analyzing the control and monitoring of SSP Mactan’s COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) and other pertaining costs in operations while working alongside with the Finance Manager and CFO such as labor, overhead, raw materials. You will also be doing analysis such as cost data analysis, improvement identification, and cost-effective strategy recommendations, that aid in improving and maximizing EBITDA. You will also spearhead the organization’s inventory management (midmonth & month end) and initiatives and conduct future trainings to impose best practices in managing inventory
Main Responsibilities:
• Examining and monitoring cost of goods sold (COGS), and other operational expenses, direct & indirect costs (labor, overhead, repair and maintenance, etc.).
• Establishing and upholding consistent costs of operating and menu items.
• Determining cost variances and conduct investigations for irregularities.
• Tracking and managing inventory levels, items & products, fast-moving items, and other supplies.
• Conducting physical inventory counts and reconciliation every 15th and 30th/31st.
• Creating presentations and expense reports for management that emphasize areas for improvement and key performance metrics.
• Communicating cost-related issues and recommendations to relevant key working relationships.
• Identifying and implementing cost-saving measures and process improvements.

Person Specification:
- Essential:
• Proven experience as cost controller in F&B or any related industry
• Strong attention to detail, creativity, and financial acumen
• Understanding of cost accounting methods, such as standard costing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or equivalent of 2 years working in the similar role.
• Understanding of cost accounting methods, such as standard costing
- Desirable:
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, NAV)
• Work experience in the F&B industry.
• Background in financial metrics, statistics, and objective setting.
