Financial Analyst

  • Based in Ashburn, VA
  • Pays $90,000 - $100,000 annually 

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Responsible for the preparation, coordination, and documentation of financial analysis projects such as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments. 
  • Provides analysis for forward-looking financial and business-related projects (i.e., sales reports, weekly trading reports, month-end, P&L, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, ad hoc analysis, etc.). 
  • Prepares forecasts and analysis of trends in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions, and other related areas. Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management. Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. 
  • May conduct special financial and business-related studies and cooperate with other departments in the preparation of analyses. Conducts financial analysis, modeling, forecasting and reporting efforts to provide useful insights for senior business leaders.
  • Working on ad hoc finance tasks with the department as assigned by senior members of the team.
  • Has authority to make recommendations in support of scalable business needs, remaining curious with an aptitude to research, implement, and adapt to innovative solutions. 
  • In all cases, maintain professional quality data integrity, recordkeeping, and operating procedures to support timely, innovative, and data-driven decisions, setting priorities aligned with senior management’s expectations, to deliver measurable outcomes and support business continuity. 
  • Accept ownership and accountability of position responsibilities and consistently strives to deliver innovative results that establish trust, high standards, credibility, and quality performance.
  • Perform other related duties as needed or as assigned by the manager or senior management.

 

Qualifications – Education, Experience, Skills, and Other Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required in finance, economics, mathematics, or another related field. 
  • Must have at least five (5) years’ demonstrated experience in corporate finance or accounting delivering results in a similar position, preferably in a large, enterprise level hospitality, food service/food and beverage or airport industry. 
  • Must have SAP application knowledge; preference to have Oracle MICROS POS and Power BI experience.
  • Preference for professional designation or certification demonstrating mastery of the practical, technical, and operational aspects of such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
  • Demonstrated success in financial modeling and analysis, with superior analytical skills.
  • Exhibits aptitude to consistently develop higher level of proficiency understanding/application of accounting and finance principals.
  • Excellent organizational skills to effectively and timely complete assigned tasks and projects as assigned. Ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change.
  • Demonstrated expert level technical competence and experience with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint).
