About the Role
Analytics Engineer, Asia Pacific
Reporting to the Senior Data Engineer, the role will play a crucial role in shaping our APAC data platform and will be the bridge between raw data and business insights, working closely with local country teams and our UK headquarters to unlock the value of our Oracle POS and inventory systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Development: Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines using Azure Databricks and Python to ensure clean, reliable data delivery.
- Business Intelligence & Visualization: Design and develop interactive PowerBI dashboards for the internal APAC team to track key performance metrics and operational efficiency.
- Complex Ad-hoc Analysis: Write advanced, highly-optimized SQL queries to extract actionable insights from large datasets (e.g., Oracle POS data, inventory logs) to answer critical business questions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the technical liaison between regional APAC offices and the UK Group, gathering requirements and translating business needs into scalable data models.
- AI-Driven Productivity: Leverage AI tools and LLMs (e.g. Copilot) to supercharge your coding and analytical workflows, while strictly adhering to data privacy protocols to ensure sensitive company data is never exposed.
Person Specification
- A bachelor’s degree holder, preferably in IT/Technology, Business Administration, Marketing, Project Management, or related disciplines
- 1-3 years of experience in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or a related role (Strong fresh graduates with relevant internship experience will also be considered) Able to communicate & summarize information clearly verbally and in written format.
- High proficiency in SQL (ability to write complex joins, window functions, and CTEs).
- Solid programming skills in Python for data manipulation and pipeline automation.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, or AWS). Experience with Azure Databricks is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience with BI visualization tools, preferably PowerBI.
- Hands on experience with AI tooling such as Microsoft Copilot or other LLM.
- Strong business acumen and communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders across different time zones.
